Title: LUDVÍK KUNZ A JEHO POJETÍ ETNOGRAFICKÉ MUZEOLOGIE  (Ludvík Kunz and his Views on Ethnographic Museology) Abstract: This paper analyzes the theoretical and practical work of Ludvík Kunz (1914–2005) in the fields of ethnography and museology during his tenure at the Ethnographic Institute of the Moravian Museum in Brno. Along with examining the basic theoretical tenets of Kunz’s holistic approach to ethnographic museology, we also trace the circumstances and motivation that led to their formulation during times of major societal changes. In the final section, we focus on the application of these theoretical concepts to the activities of his home institution, his broader work in the context of Czechoslovak museology and his tenure as university lecturer.   Authors: Kirsch Otakar Publication order reference: Masarykova univerzita, Filozofická fakulta, Ústav archeologie a muzeologia, A. The project sought to survey the status of education in museums and galleries in Slovakia and the possibility of on-line learning using the websites of these institutions. Within this context, we focus on contemporary culture and its study and analysis in museum pedagogy and educa-tion. This paper examines the position and the role of a museum educator within the framework of a modern museum through the prism of the socio-logy of professions which seeks to define professions as roles marked by high level of domain-specific education and professional socialization, the existence of an ethical codex, high degree of specialization in everyday activities, the role of the client, freedom and autonomy and a high level of respect. Using these criteria, true professions and semi-professions are distinguished and in this paper, we seek to do the same for the profession of a museum educa-tor.  Authors: Jagošová Lucie Publication order reference: Masarykova univerzita, Filozofická fakulta, Ústav archeologie a muzeologia, A. The latest trends focus on applying virtuality in various forms (such as 2D and XD, augmented reality, CAVE systems and holograms) and these are commonly implemented as the so-called Virtual Museum with three distinct levels with diffe-ring technical approaches and types of virtual design: website visualizations, virtual reality applications and artificial intelligence applications. This paper first examines the implementa-tion of these techniques in current museum practice with a number of concrete examples. We then focus on a case study, that of the remnants of the Slanec Castle (Košice-okolie county) and its reconstruction (in its so-called ideal reconstructed form of 1898-1907/1910  with some contemporary architectural elements) in a virtual museum where we analyze the varied aspects of this endeavor from its conception through the required research, documentation and design all the way to the final output intended for public consumption. We focus on the difficulties associated with the research into and documentation of these objects such as those associated with their semi-permanent nature. We then outline the need for the comprehensive survey of minor sacral architecture due to its importance in the documentation of the history and cultural of local communities focusing on their ethnic, confessional, geographic and artistic context. Some Slovak museums have begun to take concrete steps in that effort and we will briefly describe a specific part of it which in-volves the compilation of a database of these objects. STOROČIA DO ROKU 1919 (Housing Construction and Living in 1850-1919 Prešporok) Abstract: This paper is divided into two parts the first of which examines the urban space in Bratislava (Prešporok) during the last decades of the existence of Austro-Hungarian monar-chy, primarily through basic information about the city’s administrative division, its inhabit-ants and its infrastructure. We also focus on housing developments and construction, prevail-ing architectural styles and examples of new buildings using photographic documentation. In the second part of the paper, we survey and review both permanent and temporary museum exhibitions in Bratislava’s cultural institutions that concentrate on the daily life in Bratislava in the 19th and early 20th century. Despite the great number of such exhibitions which take place every year in Slovakia, their logistical aspects often leave a lot to be desired (for example, hard copy catalogues with full lists of exhibited objects, when printed at all, are usually lacking) and only small fraction is reprised. The public‘s engagement with such exhibitions in form of professional reviews as well as their social and economic effectiveness are virtually non-existent and thus a great desideratum.
