Muzeológia a kultúrne dedičstvo (Museology and Cultural Heritage) is an interdisciplinary peer-reviewed scholarly journal published quarterly. Submissions are accepted only in English. Submissions in other languages will not be considered. Authors are asked to submit their papers in electronic form (doc, docx, rtf or txt), including appendixes. The length of studies is set to 15-25 pages (4500-7500 words). The journal publishes papers in the field of museology, its subdisciplines, museum studies (theoretical as well as applied), monumentology, and the protection and preservation of cultural heritage with a focus on Central Europe. The journal aims to offer a relevant forum to both international academics and museum professionals, with an emphasis on the study of museum collections, evaluation of curating and other collecting practices of museums, as well as focusing on current issues and trends in the development of memory institutions and in the cultural heritage field. The editorial board therefore reserves the right to reject submissions it deems to fall outside of the journal's scope and recommends prospective authors to first submit abstracts using the online abstract submission system. Manuscripts approved by the editorial board then undergo blind peer review by two different reviewers. Once peer review is completed, the editorial board will then make final decision on publication, i.e. accepting the abstract does not automatically mean acceptance of the article. The editorial board of the journal Muzeológia a kultúrne dedičstvo (Museology and Cultural Heritage) concludes a legal relationship exclusively with the author, not with the institution that the author represents. Open access and copyright statement Journal Muzeológia a kultúrne dedičstvo provides open access to all content (Creative Commons CC BY). Fees: there are no article processing charges for authors or for article submission. The copyright is retained by individual authors whose rights to be identified as such are hereby asserted. Language proofreading Language proofreading is at the author´s own expense. This service is provided for our editorial board by Ebor Editing company ( https://eborediting.com/contact/ ). On request of the author, the editorial board will issue an acceptance letter (confirmation) about accepting an article for publishing only after the author submits a final version of the article, i.e. after a successful peer review and subsequent proofreading by the Ebor Editing company.
